First Chevrolet Corvette Z06 convertible, Ford Bronco Raptor sold for $1.35 million at charity auction

Money raised went to education and conservation
The two new autos raised $1.35 million for charities at the Barrett-Jackson auction in Palm Beach this past weekend!

The 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Convertible and the Bronco Raptor were the first of their respective models built. The Z06 sold for $1 million to NASCAR team owner and car dealer Rick Hendrick. Hendrick's team runs Chevrolets in the NASCAR Cup Series and he often gives back through GM's charity auctions. In fact, in January he bought the first Z06 coupe for a Barret-Jackson charity record of $3.6 million, with all the proceeds going to Operation Homefront.

The Z06 is a racing-inspired version of the Corvette with a 670 hp V8 that makes it the most powerful vehicle in Chevrolet's lineup. It was offered at the event to raise money for the Thurgood Marshall College Fund supporting higher education for Black Americans.

The 2022 Ford Bronco Raptor went for $350k and the money went to the National Forest Foundation and Outward Bound. As we know the BR is equipped with a 400 HP turbocharged V6 and a unique suspension system designed for high-speed off-road driving.

The first regular version of the new Bronco raised $1,075,000 at a Barrett-Jackson event last year for the same causes.

Of course Rick Hendricks adds to his collection. Good for him spending that much for charity. Wonder you bought the first Bronco Raptor?

Yep. He loves to be the 1st! That particular article didn't say and can't find anything online that says who did buy the Bronco Raptor

I've yet to go to a Barrett-Jackson show. It is one of my to do items in the next few years. Everyone says to do the show in Scottsdale and then go the Phoenix Open at the same time. Has anyone else done this? @Iceman or @Shaggy have either of you since you live in Arizona??

I’ve been to the scottsdale Barrett jackson twice but I’ve been the waste management open probably 6-7 times. I went and saw the 2020 (I think that was the year) new corvette vin #001 that sold for 2 mill. That was cool seeing it in person. I also was just at the open this past February (super bowl Sunday) and was on the famous 16th hole. Saw a hole in one which was something that’s hard to describe in how the place erupted! I love golf so it is one of my favorite events to go to and watch

Next year (2023) it’s gonna be crazy here, Super Bowl, Waste Management Open (Phoenix Open), Barrett Jackson and I’m sure more events too all in that week! People rent out their houses during that time for so much (10k and up)

Bet that will be insane. One day I'll come out there for the golf and BJ show. I've only been to Arizona once. Went to the Grand Canyon when I was little so don't really remember it.
