We must be getting close to production, I'd be surprised if they haven't finished tuning yet. Has anyone heard anything about what the final engine specs will be? I can't believe they would leave it a 400 like the ST. Perhaps 415 like the original gen1? My dealer said 450 and I laughed, someone posted on another forum it would be 430 even that seems high.... 407? should we start a pool?

I'd be were you think that it would be 410ish. I haven't see anything official from Ford yet.

I think the official line from Ford was “targeting above 400hp’.

To me, that line sounds like it was written by an attorney and, implies I should expect around 400…but slightly above.

With that, I’d be shocked if It hits above 415.

I think you are right, close to the 400 mark. Hopefully we are wrong and its higher, but it would be a safe bet to say its no higher than 415

After hearing what changes Ford made to the 3.0L's turbo's, intake, heads, induction, and exhaust systems specifically for the Bronco Raptor I'm cautiously optimistic they didn't do this for a 10hp gain.

For sure. Just one of those changes/add ons would raise the HP to at least 15+ ;)

Upgraded block material, upgraded turbos, optimized air flow... and I doubt Ford Performance's goal is significant HP gains. Rather, when you look at what the Bronco Raptor is capable of, I think we'll see modest HP gains (+15) over the Explorer ST. We should instead expect torque gains at lower rpm which are likely to be more useful rock crawling and other lower speed off road driving scenarios.

While others are disappointed in the 3.0L engine, I think Ford played this one wisely. We'll have to wait for the official specs to be posted. Hope this comes sooner than later as production is already being scheduled.

A Ford engineer giving a tour of a Raptor said the main focus was to have the turbos spool up instantly and to have 90% torque available right up to redline. Good power for rock crawling and desert racing.

They talking about the turbos in the Bronco Raptors having instant spool?

Yes, the turbos are designed specifically for the Bronco Raptor’s induction and exhaust systems. There are a couple videos around with Ford engineers discussing this.

3.0 was a smart decision if they plan on a Bronco Raptor R down the road

400 usable HP would be awesome for BR weight. I agree with 805. Smooth power across flat band is the goal!

It was the plan for the raptor R although I heard the fed is clamping down on milage/HP and it could spell the end for V8's in general especially the trx, jp 392 and the raptor R

What is the mileage/hp the feds are trying to top off it at? Didn’t believe this was even real the 1st time I heard it but seeing your post now validates it.
