Who here has owns/owned a Bronco (any generation) before?

Wanted to see how many of us are currently Ford Bronco people past or present?

We had a Gen 3 growing up. Don't remember the actual year of it, but is was in the 80's. Absolutely loved it but our dad traded it in for a
F-150 because he needed a truck for his work. Unfortunately, when that happened we became a Astro mini van family

New 1979 Bronco and currently a 1966 Bronco. The way it's going now probably a 2066 Bronco Raptor.

I ordered a 1989, 351 Eddie Bauer Bronco as my first new vehicle after getting a job out of college. It was painless and only took about six weeks, or so. I guess those days are gone...
... I later traded it for a new 2dr, 5spd Explorer when they came out. Boy was that a mistake! I loved the Bronco and wish I still had it. I think the BRaptor will take its place nicely!

'86 xlt, 91 xlt, 96 bauer, all were rock solid although the 302 in the 91 was underpowered. The 96 had almost 300k miles on a 351 when I finally sold it. I sold it to my nehphew with 150k and he pounded the snot out of it. I bought it back 125k later and had to reattach the dash to the firewall because he was jumping it, but other than that.... nothing broke.....

That’s pretty amazing that is all that was broke when you got it back from him. Especially after jumping it. How long did you have it after you rebought it? Or do you still have it?

I had a 2 tone 85 Bronco that was pretty worn out. I was 25 at the time, so it was about 30 years old. Had a ton of miles on it and I bought for $500 off my buddy’s dad. It needed a lot of work and I thought I would be able to learn how to fix it up. It ran but it overheated really fast and the electrical would short all the time. Thought was great, but I never had the time to work on it because a new job I got. I ended up giving it to a friend that owned a body shop and let him deal with it. Not sure what happened to it but I’d guess it’s parts now. This is what the colors looked like (obviously not this nice)

Have been thinking of buying a vintage bronco for years but crazy prices have kept me away. Reserved a bronco way back in 2020 but never followed through. Raptor order banks finally convinced me it was time to get another bronco.

Have been thinking of buying a vintage bronco for years but crazy prices have kept me away. Reserved a bronco way back in 2020 but never followed through. Raptor order banks finally convinced me it was time to get another bronco.

Well, at least it was worth the sake to get your wife. Maybe you can ask her to sell the ring to pay for a Bronco? Jk. But the ring is definitely worth more now than it was in 99, so you should be able to get a nice ride for it

That would have been cool to be able to fix it up and use it. Totally get it when comes to intentions and then real life happens. Happens to me all the time. Probably have gone through 4-5 guitars i swear I planned to learn how to play. They are now either given away or sitting in my closet with no scratches on them

I’ve had a few. My first was a 1979. That thing was a TANK. 351M engine friendly with gas but hateful to the person paying for it. The old New Process transfer case weighted about as much as the whole drivetrain in a modern vehicle.

I drove it through that winter so I could park my mustang then bought a jeep later that summer. I launched it once myself accidentally, I got pulled into a ditch in a snow storm going 55. I hit a small driveway and launched it... I pulled over to check for damage and nothing fell off ;-) I looked at the driveway and there was no tire tracks for about 20'. It really made me believe the twin I beam suspension was better then people said.

I bet. Did you happen to take any pics of it? I know back then was, why the hell would I take pics of my normal bronco, but now I wish I took a ton of pics of my older vehicles.

I was young then and both project vehicles , I made one driver out of them . It was a fun ride for sure .
