I've had my '19 Ford Raptor for almost a year and I purchased it with an aftermarket FMIC to fit the aftermarket bumper. I've had no issues aside from the last few months I started getting a "Drive Control Malfunction Service Required" error, very sporadically. After a weekend driving offroad, it is now coming up constantly. I took it to my local ford dealer and their response was that its an Active Grille Shutter issue due to me not having a shutter with the aftermarket intercooler, claiming they got code P05a1. The only fix is to reinstall the factory components.

I did my research and I'm having a hard time connecting how a CEL code leads to the drive control failure. I had no issues in the first 15k miles I put on the truck and nothing changed, so why am I getting this error code now. All the other functions of the truck work, but with the drive control failure I'm unable to change drive modes as documented by others on here. To me, I feel like the dealer pulled that code out of thin air to blame it on after market parts that are unrelated. When I put my scanner on it I can see no DTC/CEL codes let alone the P05a1 they mentioned was causing the drive issue.

Does anyone know what the components of the Drive Control system include and where I can find a wiring diagram of those components? I've gathered the active shocks (their wires and or shock condition), traction control, and collision assists. Nothing related to the shutter function. I'm curious where to look from here other than the connections and fuses within the drive control systems wiring. TYIA! Pic of the '19 for attention.
