Farthest I’ve gone is 1200 miles. I flew in and drove home. My wife and I took a bus one time to buy a truck. The salesman picked us up at the station. I almost forgot, we flew 2000 miles to buy a RV also.
That’s a lot of mileage! I would definitely do it but the hard part is to take days off from work and wouldn’t want to bring my little ones on that long of a drive.

Little ones can stay with the babysitter. Have some fun with the raptor and your wife. :ROFLMAO:

Never heard of a dealer declining anyway to sell any type of vehicle. Most be a really loyal dealership....
Depends on where it is - my wife is CFO of a dealership group and it can be a real pain in the ass. Certain states have their own rules around issuing temp plates etc so it becomes a hassle to get a car registered and who pays the sales tax etc. I know Mass. doesn't recognize temp plates - so if you bought a car there it'd have to be registered there and if you bought out of state, you'd have to deal with getting all the paperwork, then taking it all to the Mass. DMV and getting your plates, then go back to the dealership to complete your deal. Also - alot of states cracking down on temp plates because it's easy to fake them and alot of stolen cars get shuffled around that way, so it makes it harder for the cops since the car will come up "unregistered".

It happens all the time with specialty vehicles. I'm sure their intention is not altruistic, though. Typically, with a high-demand vehicle, they really don't have to or want to put any extra effort into a deal.

That’s what I think too. Someone local will buy it with demand being extremely high

I have found several places. Some want 30-50 over and others want msrp. But on the travel to got get it why not hire a transport to bring it to you

For sure, but heard most dealers won't want to mess with out of state buyers as they will have no problem selling them instate. Its more of a hassle to deal with out of state buyers.

Not many are doing it for a low over market price. Some have been lucky to get the allocation and no mark up. That’s a dream situation

Hello I am in NYC and interested - what dealer was it?
They don't have any allocations, available. The dealer is using a spray and pray approach. The manager was upfront and honest and specifically indicated that they were taking orders hoping to receive additional allocations from corporate.
