The debut will happen after the total solar eclipse. New blacked-out Bronco Raptor is coming in April The debut is happening after the total solar eclipse Bronco customers are offered with $1,995 two-night camping package to see the eclipse Ford announced that a new Bronco Raptor with a Blackout package will debut at a special Bronco Off-Roadeo event in Texas on April 8 following the total solar eclipse. The Blue Oval company didn't go into details about what's inside the Blackout package. But as the name suggests, the go-to motif should be black, which should be interesting to see considering most of the design elements are already blacked-out off the lot. The mighty 3.0-liter V6 EcoBoost engine with up to 440 horsepower should be...
As Ford Authority reported earlier this month, The Blue Oval was set to compete at the 2023 Baja Score 1000 this past weekend with not just one, but two different models – the Ford F-150 Raptor R in the Stock Full class and the Ford Bronco Raptor in the Stock Mid-Size division. When the dust settled, that effort paid off in a big way for FoMoCo, as the Ford Bronco Raptor managed to bring home a first-place finish in the iconic off-road race. In a race filled with pitfalls for every team thanks to a steady rain and poor visibility, the Ford Bronco Raptor managed to secure a win in the Stock Mid-Size class after covering 1,200 miles up the Baja Mexico peninsula from La Paz to Ensenada. The Bronco Raptor crossed the finish line with an...
This is an article on Cars.com basically describing their pros and cons experience of the BRap. With the launch of the reinvented Bronco for 2021, Ford resurrected more than just retro styling cues from the original 1966 model. Like the first Bronco, the new incarnation presents serious off-road buyers with an alternative to the iconic Jeep Wrangler, and arguably one that is a tad more civilized and high tech. Now, for 2022, Ford has upped the ante with the Bronco Raptor. Like its F-150 Raptor sibling, the Bronco Raptor is meant to be an off-road performance machine, with extras such as more horsepower, an upgraded suspension and a wider track. The result is a much more capable Bronco, and one better equipped to do battle with Jeep’s...
Ford is answering the call for increased personalization on its Bronco Raptor with the launch of new design options for the high-performance off-roader. The options focus on the exterior of the SUV and will be available on the 2024 Bronco Raptor. The highlight is the new Code Orange package which adds graphics with the Bronco's signature Code Orange color on the rear fenders, tow hooks, and beadlock rings on the standard 17-inch wheels, which are finished in Dark Carbonized Gray. The same Code Orange color also dots the cabin. Another option that Bronco Raptor fans have been clamoring for is fenders matching the body color. This feature joins additional design options available for 2024 that include the colors Shelter Green and...
By Aaron Turpen, automotive writer The Ford Bronco Raptor is new this year and it satisfies a need that most people probably weren’t aware is there. It’s a big, turbocharged, fast-paced rig with the off-road goodies and fat tires everyone wants. Like Jeep, Ford saw the kinds of mods people make to rigs like this and said “Hey, we could sell that from the factory and make bank!” After a couple of decades’ hiatus for the SUV, Ford brought out the sixth generation of the venerable Bronco in 2021. Two versions were introduced, just to make it more confusing, and because of production delays, the Bronco Sport (aka “Baby Bronco”) hit roads first. And immediately Bronco fans were livid. Because the Bronco Sport is not what we think of as...
Will the real Raptor please stand up? It’s an interesting thought experiment: If money is not in question and you want the ultimate Ford-branded off-road vehicle, what should you get? Do you opt for the new-for-2023 F-150 Raptor R, the V-8-powered, king-of-the-hill, Baja-style supertruck with an engine out of the Mustang Shelby GT500? Or do you opt for the more compact, smaller, less powerful but potentially more maneuverable new-for-2022 Ford Bronco Raptor SUV? Each has their pros and cons, their strengths and weaknesses, but they’re both the ultimate off-road version of that nameplate’s lineup, and given their Raptor monikers, you know that either of them is going to be massively capable in the dirt. So, it’s a valid question: Which...
We're finally getting some more news on the FordPass Performance App that has been long-promised by Ford. Published on Ford Authority January 31, 2023 Article copied below (link to original article on Ford Authority. ) Back when the sixth-generation Ford Bronco debuted years ago, one of its promised features was the new FordPass Performance app, which was supposed to offer owners a number of useful tools, including access to thousands of pre-loaded off-road maps. However, a considerable amount of time has gone by and we’re still waiting for the elusive FordPass Performance app to launch, and as of last spring, it remained a “work in progress,” according to the automaker. However, it seems as if we’re possibly getting closer to...
Deep ruts and moguls? Wildly shaped volcanic rocks? No problem. Micheal Teo Van Runkle Strapped in tight with a helmet and HANS device, I watch Baja 1000 and Mint 400 vet Shelby Hall blast off at full throttle and bury my windshield in a thick dust cloud. I’m up next. I cover the brake pedal with my left foot and ease into the gas, revs climbing to 3,000 RPM before I let loose and pummel the poor polo-shirted Ford rep to my left with another shower’s worth of desert grit. There’s no time to wave “sorry,” though, before I stomp the brakes for an ABS test, four-wheel drift through a slalom cone circuit, then tackle whoops and jumps at more than 60 miles per hour. This is the Ford Bronco Raptor, and it waits for nothing. After...

The Ford Bronco Raptor made it to the final round of the Motor Authority Best Car To Buy 2023 competition because it’s one of the most outrageously fun vehicles money can buy. It’s so much fun that we can’t balk at the $69,995 sticker price, which almost seems affordable these days. Editorial Director Marty Padgett found the Ford Bronco Raptor—which we call Braptor around here—fun when the pavement ends, saying it bedevils the dust and terrorizes all terrain. He’s right. 2022 Ford Bronco Raptor The Braptor looks like an adult Tonka truck, with boxy lines, a wide stance, and ridiculous fender flares. Those flares are necessary to cover the long-travel Fox remote reservoir dampers and 37-inch BFGoodrich K02 all-terrain tires. The...
There's bad news for anyone underwhelmed by the 2022 Ford Bronco Raptor's powertrain: Larger-displacement engines aren't in store for the off-road monster. At the 2023 Ford F-150 Raptor R launch Ford Performance boss Carl Widmann explained to Motor Authority why the Bronco Raptor ("Braptor") doesn't have a larger, more powerful, engine than its current twin-turbo 3.0-liter V-6. 2021 Ford F-150 Raptor The twin-turbo 3.5-liter V-6's a no-go Simply put, the Braptor's too narrow for the twin-turbo 3.5-liter V-6 that produces 450 hp and 510 lb-ft of torque in the Ford F-150 Raptor. While the Braptor is far from narrow–it's 8.6 inches wider than stock, making it 7.5 feet wide–the added width is from the massive 37-inch tires...
Hennessey has revealed its hardcore modified Ford Bronco Raptor that produces 20 per cent more power and torque than the regular model. US tuning firm Hennessey has revealed its latest wild creation, using the baja-ready Ford Bronco Raptor as a base. Dubbed the Hennessey VelociRaptor 500 Bronco, this fettled Bronco Raptor is the eighth VelociRaptor model the company has created. A new high-capacity intercooler, proprietary engine management system, and high-flow exhaust system help to increase the outputs of the Raptor’s 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 engine by 60kW and 149Nm to 372kW of power and 746Nm of torque. The regular Bronco Raptor’s engine produces 312kW and 597Nm, or approximately 20 per cent less. Don’t expect to see even the...
It’s not exactly a surprise that the Ford Bronco was designed to compete directly with the Jeep Wrangler, given the fact that those two vehicles have historically been bitter rivals. However, judging by some recent comparison tests, it seems as if FoMoCo built a better vehicle, as the Wrangler was taken down by both the Bronco and even the Ford Bronco Sport on two separate occasions, the latter of which it doesn’t even compete with. With the Bronco attracting Wrangler owners in large quantities, the next battle on our menu pits the critically-acclaimed Ford Bronco Raptor – which is just starting to reach customers – against the Jeep Wrangler 392, a vehicle The Blue Oval benchmarked it against. And, according to MotorTrend at least, the...
Rocket League is getting a new car for its lineup, and this collaboration will see the addition of the Ford Bronco Raptor RLE to the game. The car will be added as a bundle that comes with several digital goodies. The in-game bundle comes with several things, including the Ford Bronco Raptor RLE car, engine audio wheels, decal, and player banner. The bundle will be available starting on Aug. 4, and those who want it will need to snatch it up before it leaves the store on Aug. 16. The bundle will cost 1,100 credits. The bundle will launch at 11am CT on Aug. 4 for those who can’t wait to get their hands on the new vehicle skin. The car will have the Merc hitbox, which is already drawing ire from some fans on social media. Because of...
The Ford Bronco Raptor debuted earlier this year as the ultimate variant of the already capable off-road-focused SUV, packing more power and some serious suspension upgrades in the process. However, the Bronco Raptor will only be produced in limited quantities for the 2022 model year, with most of those examples going to carryover reservation holders. Thus, those that want a more serious version of the new Ford Bronco must look elsewhere, though a number of aftermarket companies are offering fortified versions of the SUV, including Hennessy. Now, the APG Ford Bronco ProRunner package has debuted as another new Raptor alternative. The APG Ford Bronco ProRunner package builds upon the solid base FoMoCo created and adds some serious...
The sixth-generation Ford Bronco launched in 2020 for the 2021 model year, but the iconic SUV’s return was a quarter-century in the making. The Blue Oval created multiple “new” Bronco concepts in the time between the fifth-gen’s discontinuation following the 1996 model year and the revived sixth-gen’s launch, but as it turns out, the automaker was also planning to build the Ford Bronco Raptor before that happened as well. “In terms of how far, we started strategizing about this before Bronco was launched,” Ford Bronco Raptor Chief Engineer, Aerie Groeneveld, told Ford Authority Executive Editor, Alex Luft, in a recent interview. “So we saw the capability of the base Bronco and we knew that we could actually add Raptor DNA on this.”...
You'll have to wait until next year if you didn't act quickly enough. Ford is on somewhat of a hot streak lately. People can't seem to get enough of the Blue Oval's products, with popular vehicles like the Mustang Mach-E already sold out for 2022. It's a similar story with the Maverick, so it comes as no surprise that the all-new 2022 Bronco Raptor is following in its siblings' footsteps. Sources close to the matter have said that the range-topping Bronco is no longer available to order for the 2022 model year. Deemed a specialty vehicle, Dearborn has decided to limit production of the Raptor in its debut year. A leaked dealer document uncovered in February explained the "Hand Raiser" program would be utilized for Bronco Raptor orders...
Just like the Ford F-150 Raptor, Ford’s Bronco Raptor is expected to be a lot of fun off road. Earlier this year, the company said this new Bronco variant would make at least 400 hp from its 3.0-liter turbocharged V6. Well, Ford’s boss Jim Farley took to Twitter to tell the masses that the upcoming Bronco Raptor overshot projections and will send 418 hp and 440 lb-ft of torque through the 10-speed transmission. While the Bronco Raptor’s smaller 3.0-liter V6 is in the shadow of the 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 that powers the Ford F-150 Raptor, it does add a significant performance boost to the Bronco lineup. Currently, Ford’s Bronco is offered with a 2.3-liter turbocharged I4 that makes 300 hp and a 2.7-liter turbocharged V6 that makes 330...
So much detail has gone into Ford's new off-road monster. We're suckers for a good Easter egg, and after a long day in the desert, we realized Ford has dropped some into the new Bronco Raptor. Frustratingly, the realization came while photographing the off-roader at the end of the day and just before our time was up with it. We asked if there were more, but the answer was just a nod and a chuckle as they took the keys back. In other words, we're going to have to wait until we have a full week to test drive the Bronco Raptor to try and find the rest. In the meantime, these are the Easter eggs we saw out in the desert. The first Easter egg we saw on the Bronco isn't the coolest, but it's still pretty slick. Due to the roof being...
